Meditation has long been considered a way to calm oneself and strengthen memory. However, this is the first time a study has scientifically proven that meditation can strengthen memory and increase intelligence. This conclusion resulted from a study conducted by Harvard neuroscientist Dr. Sara Lazar. Together with his team, Dr. Lazar conducted a study on 16 volunteers for 8 weeks. All volunteers had their brain activity scanned during meditation and throughout the study, Dr. Lazar saw significant improvements in the brain, especially in the gray areas, which are associated with learning and memory, as well as emotional control centers and compassion. "Meditating is like exercise for the brain. Just by doing simple meditation, you can train brain cells like training muscles by exercising," explained Dr. Lazar, reported by the Daily Mail. During the 8 weeks of research, it was discovered that those who meditated regularly had significant changes in the gray area of the brain. In addition, those who meditate also remember certain words and images more easily than those who don't. how to train the brain by meditating? Dr. Lazar said that the exercises carried out must focus the mind on the sensations of the five senses, so that external stimuli are no longer felt.
